It’s easy to make your own tropical mango soda! A few quick ingredients and you’re there. It’s a perfect treat for watching Father Goose!
Do you have movies that just take you back to a certain time and place? Or ones that bring back so many memories? One of those films for me is Father Goose. If you haven’t seen this 1964 movie with Cary Grant and Leslie Caron, you should definitely check it out. It won an Academy Award for the screenplay and keep you laughing with so many funny quotable moments! You never know, you just might relate to Goody Two Shoes or the Filthy Beast.
If you don’t know this movie yet, it’s set on a tropical island and filmed in Jamaica. Long story short, Cary Grant (aka Filthy Beast) ends up being stuck on a deserted island with and Leslie Caron (Goody Two Shoes) and seven young schoolgirls who are under her care. So entertaining as things clash and they have to figure things out!

Today is the first post in a new series: Movie Club Monday! Today’s genre is nostalgic films. So, pulling from the tropical climate of this movie, today I’m sharing am easy tropical mango soda recipe!
What you need
Soda – Sprite or Dr. Pepper
Crystal Light Liquid Drink Mix, Tropical Coconut – I like this brand because of the coconut/pineapple balance. Works great with the mango!
Water Flavor Drops, Peach Mango
Vanilla Ice Cream (optional)
Make your Tropical Mango Soda
- Add 1/2 tsp of each drink mix to an empty glass.
*optional – Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you’d like a creamy version
- Add 8 oz. soda to the glass, little by little, letting the foam settle.
*This fizzes up fast if you pour very quickly.*
Enjoy the drink and the movie too!
Next month’s genre will be romantic comedy! Be sure to check it out!
