It’s easy to plan a dragon birthday party with easy cake and craft ideas! It’s a fun idea for kids who love How to Train Your Dragon, Pete’s Dragon, LEGO Elves, and all the other fun dragon movies.
We love the movie How To Train Your Dragons at our house so we came up with a few ideas for a fun birthday party.
Breath of Fire Cupcakes
Start with cupcakes in whatever flavor you’d like. Arrange them on a platter or cake pan. I used a cake pan so they would be easier to move.
Mix up frosting in shades of yellow, red, and orange. Place one color in a frosting bag with a large cupcake tip.
Add a few swirls of frosting over the cupcakes. Swap to another color and continue the process.
Fill in the spaces with the balance of colors you like.
Shiny Picture Frames
We know dragons love shiny things, so we decorated wooden picture frames using jewels, glass pebbles, and glitter glue.
Roaring Fire Station
Set up a photo spot where kids can stand to the side and roar!
I’ve seen this idea a few times before so I decided to create one. I used craft foam because it was really easy to cut and I thought it would last a little better than paper. Use a few blobs of paint and smear to create flames.
You could also make Astrid’s skirt!
