a.k.a. Getting Out Of Slob Mode

We all like relaxed days but they don’t happen every day.  Get yourself in a productive frame of mind by doing your hair and makeup (or face care if you’re not a makeup gal).  See how much you can accomplish!

a.k.a. Getting Out of Slob Mode

Routines can make or break a day for me and this is especially true  in the morning.  I can get on track and be more productive throughout the day if I take a few minutes to do my hair and makeup.

.

Mornings are hard for me.  Okay, more than hard.  Try waking a grouchy bear early from hibernation.  That’s more like it.  {yikes}

Mornings are usually high activity times at our house- getting everyone ready and fed and doing anything else that must happen.  I’ve noticed that days when I get up a few minutes early to get my face and hair done seem to go much easier.
 .
First, I make my bed.  It helps get my brain shifting and realizing that if I crawl back in, I’ll have to make it again.  It keeps things easier and less tempting.  I try to exercise next.  Yes, try.  Then I get dressed in something other than the pj’s I slept in.  I might be wearing something on the comfy side but it helps me change gears.
 .
Next (or in the next little while), I head to the bathroom to put on some makeup and do my hair- even if I’m staying home for the day.  It doesn’t have to be elaborate or take more than a few minutes.  A little swish of the mascara wand goes a long way.  As easy as it is to stay messy, I’m WAY more productive if I take a few minutes to feel put together.
 .
At some point in the day, I might lose momentum.  {um, yeah}  It really helps if I don’t feel like a slob.  When I’m not put together, it’s much easier to just completely veg out and get nothing done.  If I do decide to take a break, it’s WAY more enjoyable if I’m looking and feeling like a functioning adult.  I feel better about myself and what I’ve accomplished.  In turn, I’m happier and more fun to be around which is better for everyone!
 .
If you’re feeling like a slob, it’s easy to let things around you get slobby too.  If I feel tidy personally, I want my surroundings to be nice and tidy too!
 .
It won’t solve all your problems, but it makes them easier to deal with!
